The mobile application industry is predicted to be a $45 Billion industry in 2015. In 2011, Angry Birds reported $100 million in revenue with over 500M downloads. With thousands of applications being launched in mobile market places worldwide, designing a successful mobile application is very challenging.

About the Speaker:

Joy MontoyaJoy Montoya is the Sr. Director of Monetization & Publishing for GOGII Inc, a Los Angeles-based mobile social messaging company that publishes popular messaging applications, textPlus and textPlus Free Calls on mobile devices worldwide. She also lectures for Cal Poly Graphic Communications Department and is a Board Member of a private school leading technology initiatives and integration.

She’s a Cal Poly Graphic Communication Alumni and obtained her Master’s degree in Education Technology from California State Long Beach. She has led many product development teams for major technology companies such as Adobe Systems Inc, 3M/Imation (Luminous/PrePress), Lucent-Alcatel (PacketVideo) and Electronics Arts Mobile (JAMDAT Mobile). She considers herself a start-up junkie and has launched a portfolio of new technologies to consumers including Adobe PDF-for-Print, now integrated in Adobe InDesign. She’s also spent the last 12 years in mobile technologies where she deployed MPEG-4 video on mobile devices and popular mobile games such as Tetris, Bejeweled and Scrabble on mobile devices worldwide.
